ONE (1) YEAR FIXED TERM CONTRACT
The Knowledge Translation Unit (KTU) is a health systems research unit that develops, implements and evaluates clinical guidance for primary care public health sector use. We currently work in South Africa, several other sub- Saharan African countries, Brazil and Indonesia. We have plans to expand the Unit’s work further in 2022.
The main purpose of this position is to help to develop programme curriculum and materials, in collaboration with the KTU content and research teams. It includes ensuring that programmes are of high quality and designed to effectively serve the needs of the target audience, through online and face-to-face facilitation.
Minimum Requirements
- MBChB degree with clinical experience OR
- B.CUR degree or equivalent with at least 2yrs experience in training programme development, facilitation, and implementation.
- A minimum of 1-2 years’ experience in working in the primary health care system.
- Registration with South African Nursing Council (SANC) or Health Professional Council of South Africa (HPCSA).
Advantageous
- Experience in training programme development, facilitation, and implementation.
- Post graduate studies in Education or Public Health.
Skills
- Facilitation and training.
- Training program design.
- Organised and administratively strong; experience using project management apps (e.g.trello) advantageous.
- Intermediate skill in Google workplace, MSWord, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Competent in digital learning technologies (e.g., webinars, video conferencing, eLearning, Learning Management Systems).
- Literacy in Access / Database management advantageous.

Responsibilities
- Project manage the development and implementation of training projects and processes.
- Facilitate the KTUs training programmes – online and face to face.
- Working in a team to design, develop and implement online, face-to-face, and blended learning programmes and instructional materials.
- Design, implement and support the development and use of learning assessments, methodologies, and tools to monitor and measure the effectiveness of learning programmes.
- Provide input on best practices and applicable methodologies/ process/ procedures to support training activities.
- Manage data and reports relating to training and implementation.
- Maintaining, updating, and reviewing of existing training content, both clinical and other.
- Provide user administration and support.
General
- Stay up to date with current trends in education technology and healthcare.
- Engage collaboratively with relevant stakeholders.
- Report regularly on progress against specified objectives, tasks, and performance indicators.
- Report writing as required.
- Coordinate project tasks and deliverables within projects.
- Actively engage in contributing to the body of research work produced in the KTU, ensuring the articulation of unit’s teams and activities maintain a knowledge translation focus.
Remuneration will depend on your qualifications and experience.
